This short, advocacy style documentary film produced for the Douglas George Murray Trust (DGMT) traces the commitment of four Zulu male crèche owners who commit their lives, against staggering odds, to educate and protect young children in the township communities of Hammarsdale and Inchanga in KZN. We are currently working on a feature length documentary film with film graduates from two universities in two provinces.

COACH

 

This short portrait style advocacy video on Coach Merlin was produced for an amazing client, The Adonis Musati Foundation. Merlin is a father, mentor and local sports development fundi!

BETTER TOGETHER

 

Better Together is an impact video showcasing the valuable work undertaken in South African by a joint network of agencies – The Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund – dealing with refugee integration and advancing social cohesion in South Africa. This video was produced for the International Organization for Migration (IOM South Africa).

Refuge

 

Refuge is another Social Impact Video we are proud to have produced for The Adonis Musati Project. The video explores the challenges and triumphs of refugee woman community leaders in South Africa. The video also sheds some interesting light on a new mode/methodology of empowerment and leadership known as Asset Based Community Development (ABCD).

VISUAL NARRATIVES OF HOPE TRAINING PROJECT

 

Skillogy SA undertook a two-week project aimed at teaching refugee youth how to harness the power of visual media tools to take control of narratives about themselves and their families that sort to unsettle and challenge bias, fallacious and often disparaging narratives about refugees in South Africa. This joint workshop was offered in collaboration between Skillogy SA, IOM South Africa and UNHCR.

POSTPRODUCTION BOOTCAMP

 

In June 2025 Skillogy South Africa partnered with the University of Cape Town’s Centre for Film and Media Studies,  and industry professionals in training 20 youth to become video editors.
